DAY ACCRA CITY COACH TOUR
Activities
in the itinerary include:
- Visit
to the Independence Square. The Square is an official ground
for holding important ceremonies in Ghana like the inauguration
of Presidents, Independence Day Celebrations, etc. It was used
as a durbar ground for President Clinton of the USA when he
visited Ghana. It contains a monument dedicated to the Unknown
Soldier in memory of the Soldiers who died in the struggle for
Ghana’s Independence.
- Visit
to the Centre for National Culture. The Centre is a sprawling
market of traditional arts, crafts and paintings, where you
can shop for your room decorations and souvenirs. The Centre
will give you the priviledge to sharpen your bargaining skills.
- Visit
to the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum. This is the final resting place
of Dr Kwame Nkrumah, the first President of Ghana. The Mausoleum
has been visited by many world dignitaries. It has a museum,
mausoleum and a park.
- Catch
glimpse of the Old Parliament House, the High & Supreme
Courts, the Central Bank, James & Ussher Forts, Salaga Market,
the Lighthouse, National Theatre and Makola Market, the central
business district of Accra.
- Visit
National Museum which houses Ghanaian modern and ancient culture.
- Visit
the University of Ghana, the premier university in Ghana.
- Tour of
Tema. Tema is an industrial town with important institutions
like the Tema Oil Refinery, Tema Habour, Volta Aluminum Company,
Nestle Ghana Limited, Uniliver Ghana Limited, etc.

THE WESTERN REGION
Activities in the itinerary
include:
- Tour of
the Ankasa Rain Forest. The Reserve is one of the few tropical
rainforest left in West Africa and has a diversity of species
of forest animals and trees. The Reserve will make participants
understand what goes on day and night in the forest and also
get close to nature and provide a lasting positive impact on
the life towards the forest. Activities at the Reserve include
hiking, trails, webbing game; ceed’s needs game, rainbow
game, smelly soup, soil making, etc. We will have the opportunity
of viewing the famous bamboo cathedral. It is a cluster of bamboo
trees, which has merge beautifully to form the cathedral and
is simply breathtaking. The beauty of this can match any cathedral
in the world.
- A visit
to the Ghana- Ivory Coast border.
- Visit
to the village of Nkroful. This is the birth place of Dr. Kwame
Nkrumah, the first President of Ghana to see the tomb in which
he was buried when his dead body was returned from Congo where
he died, before the body was exhumed and re-buried at the Kwame
Nkrumah Mausoleum in Accra.
- Tour of
the Takoradi- Sekondi Municipalities.
THREE DAYS/ 2 NIGHTS TOUR
TO THE VOLTA REGION
Activities in the itinerary
include:
- Visit
to Dr Naomesi’s Herbal Treatment Centre. The centre has
found cure for several ailments which orthodox medicine has
no cure for; for example, baldness, impotence, fertility, etc.
Break for lunch in a restaurant.
- Visit
the Tafi monkey sanctuary. In this sanctuary monkeys are considered
sacred and are protected by the inhabitants.
- Visit
the Grottos of the Catholic Church in Kpando, perhaps the biggest
grottos in Africa. Some visitors go there for pilgrimage.
- Visit
Kpando Torkor to view various rivers launches and ferries.
- Visit
the Likpe Ancestral Caves where the people of Likpe are believe
to have emerged from. There are still some relics of pot remains
which are believed to have been used by their ancestors.
- Hiking
at Mount Afadja. This is the highest mountain point in Ghana
for some hiking and adventure. It is about 850 metres high.
At the peak of the mountain you will see some parts of Togo
and many towns in the Volta Region.
- Visit
to the Wli Falls. This is the highest waterfall in West Africa.
The falls is about 120 metres high.
TWO
DAYS/ 1 NIGHT TOUR OF THE ASHANTI REGION
Activities in
the itinerary include:
- Visit
to the Manhyia Palace. This is the seat of the Asante King,
and also houses the Royal Museum. The Museum will tell you much
about the Asantes history and culture.
- Visit
the Kumasi Centre for National Cultural Centre. At the Centre
you will have the priviledge to shop some traditional items
like kente, adinkra, wood carvings, leatherworks, etc. at an
affordable price. The Centre will give you the priviledge to
sharpen your bargaining skills.
- Visit
the Okomfo Anokye Sword Site: in the premise of the Okomfo Anokye
Teaching Hospital. The Sword was embedded in the earth by the
then High Priest, Okomfo Anokye, and nobody has been able to
uproot it. It represents the strength of the Asantes. It is
also where the Golden Stool was conjured from the sky in 1700
by the same Okomfo Anokye and represents the unity and collective
soul of the Asantes.
- Visit
to Bonwire and Ntonsu villages to see how Kente and Adinkra
are produce. Kente and Adinkra are textiles prints usually with
local symbols on them and are worn usually to important occassions.
All these symbols have special meanings.
- A visit
to Lake Bosumtwi. This lake is very picturesque, with many stories
about its formation worth listening to.

DAYS/ 2 NIGHTS VISIT TO THE BRONG AHAFO & NORTHERN REGION
Activities in the itinerary
include:
- Visit
to Boabeng Fiema Monkey Sanctuary. The sanctuary is home to
the Black and White Colobus Monkey Sanctuary. The monkeys are
perceived to be sacred. They are well protected and live in
harmony with the inhabitants. The monkeys can be easily found
in the compounds of the villages.
- A visit
to the Kintampo Waterfall to experience the cool invigorating
atmosphere created by nature and to savor the breadth- taking
view of the cascading waterfall.
- Tour of
the Mole National Park. The park is Ghana’s premier park
for game viewing. It houses about ninety species of animals
notably elephants, buffalo, bush pig, etc. Occasionally you
may come across hyena, leopards, and lions.
- A visit
to the Larabanga Mosque. This is believed to be the oldest mosque
in the country and it is about 400 years old.
- A view
of the Larabanga Mystery Stone. This is a stone which couldn’t
be moved to pave way for a road construction.
FULL
DAY TOUR OF THE CENTRAL REGION
Places
to be visited in the itinerary include:
• Visit to a Posuban
Shrine at Winneba or Mankessim. The Shrines are monuments
in the Fante Lands for their warriors during the
pre colonial era inter tribal wars. The warriors
usually obtain their blessings from these shrines
before they embark on a war.
• Visit to the Assin Manso Slave Market and River (“Donkor
Nsuo”). The Slave River is the final place
where slaves are bath before being sold to the slave traders.
• Tour of Kakum National Park. The park comprises of undisturbed
virgin rainforest with many flora and fauna and
also the only tree top canopy walkway in Africa which you will
love to experience.
• Visit the Elmina Castle. The Castle is the oldest, largest
and the first European fortification outside Europe
built by the Portuguese in 1582. The Castle was used to house
slaves before being shipped to the New World during
the Slave Trade era. Continue to your hotel for dinner and
overnight sleep.
3 DAYS/ 2 NIGHTS TOUR OF CENTRAL
REGION & THE WESTERN REGION

Visit to the Nzulezu village. This is a village on stilt in
the middle lake Tadene where life goes on normal
for inhabitants. It is interesting listening to the stories
concerning why these villagers lives right at
the middle of a lake. You will have the privilege of canoeing
on the lake to the village. You have the opportunity
to visit Fort Appolonia at Benyin built by the English in
1768 with its unique history.
